The Dead Sea

A little blessing in creation. The Dead Sea is without a doubt one of natures living miracles as well as being the lowest point on the face of this earth. Staring at the Dead Sea can be compared to listening to Moby’s porcelain... (That song from “The Beach”) It’s not quite the Thai beach from the movie but it is a vision, nothing like I’ve ever seen before. Salt crystals line the surface, and perch form the waters like mini glaciers. Mountains border the Dead Sea to the east and you have the rolling hills of Jerusalem to the west, giving it an out of this world beauty. The waters are completely still and because of the cloudy day colors were milky and glum, yet I still caught myself staring into the stillness with a smile.

The water is warm and feels as though you are walking into a bathtub soaked with baby oil. No matter how heavy you are, once you are a few feet in, your body will flip, legs will perch and before you know it you are instantly floating. It is also the cheapest boob job you could ever get, no silicon needed- everything, all body parts, boys and girls, will float UP. A quick warning: Do not shave! And if you have gashes- even minor scrapes it WILL burn, but it is no doubt worth a quick dip. Lastly if floating miraculously and effortlessly is not amazing enough, the water. minerals and mud of the Dead Sea are known to have miraculous benefits on the skin.
